Microphone Covers and Filters

A microphone cover creates an area of dead air around your microphone so that wind or breath sounds do not spoil the quality of your recordings. A furry or dead cat cover is best used for outdoor use in windy conditions. For overhead boom use and best cancelling effect, a zeppelin is recommended, but it is a lot larger and less compact. Foam covers are better for indoor use to stop mild breath and wind noise. In cases where you would just want to stop breath noise, a pop filter is most suitable.
